I am going to tell you about a beautiful place called Death Valley National Park. It doesn’t seem great, but just trust me, it is a wonderful place. Death Valley National Park is located in eastern California and Nevada. Death Valley opened October 31, 1994. Some activities you could do in Death Valley National Park are going golfing, camping, go see Dante’s View and go to the highest point within Death Valley National Park Telescope Peak.
There are accommodations in the park one of the places you could stay is the Oasis, it is a 4-star hotel and from the looks of it, they have a huge pool.
Some of the historic places in Death Valley National Park are Scotty’s Castle, Charcoal Kilns, Harmony Borax Works and Eureka Mine. There is a visitor center where you could join a ranger-guided tour. To learn more about their wildlife they have a natural history museum also you could go hiking to see the wildlife in action. This is a great national park maybe now you would like to visit?

By Montserrat

Montserrat is a 4th grader who wants to stop global warming.

I read an article on NewsELA about the Amazon rainforest fires. There have been 74,155 fires this year. Some people start the fires on purpose and sometimes on accident, but the problem is that those fires are making global warming worse. The forest holds carbon dioxide and without the trees the carbon dioxide goes into the air, making it worse for global warming.

It's very hard to stop these fires because the president of Brazil wants more farming and mining so he doesn't want the forests saved. People don't agree with how the Brazilian president is using the land and effecting global warming.

If we don't put out the fires, the rainforest will be changing and it won't get better. The situation won't get better unless we put the fires out and start protecting the Amazon rainforest.

Channel Islands National Park
By Gissele Deras-Medrano
Today I will be writing about the Channel Island National Park, this park has 5 islands off the Southern California coast. The islands have many different unique plants and animals.
To get to the islands you have to take a ferry. It is a good idea to have a reservation because they only allow a certain number of visitors at once. They are very strict about what you can take to the island. Anything you take to the island you have to bring back. There are no restaurants or stores on the islands. They are trying to protect the animals and plants and keep it natural.
Anacapa islands has trails to a lighthouse and inspiration point . Santa Cruz Island has many sea caves including a big painted cave. Santa Rosa Island features rare plants like torrey pines . Thousands of seals gather on San Miguel Island at Point Bennett. There is only one campsite and you have to get permission to stay. The visitor center is actually in Ventura on the mainland. It features a bookstore, exhibits and a 25-minute park movie.
